We are proud to announce that Koelnmesse Pte Ltd has achieved the Singapore MICE Sustainability Certification - SILVER (Event Organiser), awarded by SACEOS (The Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers). This certification recognizes our commitment to sustainability and affirms our adherence to best practices in responsible event management.

The Singapore MICE Sustainability Certification (MSC) was launched in January 2024 by SACEOS, with support from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), to raise sustainability standards across the industry. The framework sets clear guidelines for sustainable practices across all stakeholders, from event organisers to venues, transport providers, and beyond, reinforcing Singapore's position as a leading sustainable MICE destination.

At Koelnmesse, we believe in giving back and building a stronger community. Through meaningful initiatives such as tree planting events, food donation drives, and the donation of upcycled bags from banners, we actively contribute to a greener, healthier environment while fostering community engagement.

In 2024, Koelnmesse HQ planted 100 trees in commemoration of our 100th anniversary and encouraged all offices worldwide to explore similar tree planting activities. In Singapore, we symbolically launched our sustainability journey by participating in a tree planting event at the SIT (Singapore Institute of Technology) Punggol campus.

Our commitment goes beyond corporate responsibility — we strive to create lasting, positive impacts that benefit both people and the planet. Reinforcing our dedication to sustainability and community well-being, we upcycled used event banners into functional bags and donate to schools and non-profit organizations.

We are also driving digital innovation by adopting solutions like e-badges and mobile apps. To minimize waste and streamline visitor experiences, we have adopted e-badges as a sustainable alternative to traditional printed badges. This initiative has led to a 50% reduction in badge printing, significantly cutting down on paper waste and plastic usage. Visitors can seamlessly access their digital badges via mobile devices, streamlining check-in while reducing the event's environmental footprint.

Complementing this effort, we also enhanced the functionality of our mobile apps to provide a more interactive and resource-efficient event experience. Our event apps serve as a central hub for networking, real-time updates, and exhibitor information, reducing reliance on printed materials such as brochures and maps. By integrating digital signage and app-based engagement tools, we minimize paper waste while improving accessibility and convenience for attendees.
