PT. Nine Koeln Indonesia combines international exhibition expertise with local market insight to unlock new industry opportunities and strengthen Indonesia’s position as a regional trade hub.
Jakarta, Indonesia, 12 May 2026 — Longtime collaborators Koelnmesse and AMARA Expo (PT. Amara Pameran Internasional) have entered a new phase of partnership with the establishment of PT. Nine Koeln Indonesia. The joint venture is set to advance Indonesia’s exhibition industry while expanding access to international markets and business networks.
As Southeast Asia’s largest economy and an increasingly important regional trade hub, Indonesia continues to demonstrate steady annual growth of around 5% supported by a strong demographic advantage. At the same time, its Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector is gaining strong momentum, with industry growth expected to reach up to 15% this year.
Against this background, PT. Nine Koeln Indonesia will focus on enhancing the quality of trade fairs, strengthening international participation, and supporting Indonesian businesses in reaching wider markets. The company is positioned to contribute to Indonesia’s ambition of becoming a key hub for trade exhibitions in the region.
“The establishment of PT. Nine Koeln Indonesia marks an important milestone in our journey with Koelnmesse,” says Etty Anggraeni, Managing Director of PT. Nine Koeln Indonesia. “Since our first collaboration on the Indonesia Dental Exhibition & Conference (IDEC) in 2017, we have demonstrated the value of this partnership. With this joint venture, we are taking a significant step forward in delivering high-quality platforms and creating more opportunities for Indonesian businesses to connect globally.”
The joint venture builds on a strong track record of collaboration between the two organisations, from IDEC in 2017, interzum jakarta in 2024 to International Hardware Fair Indonesia in 2025. In 2026, this collaboration continues with interzum jakarta, International Hardware Fair Indonesia, IFFINA+ powered by imm cologne, and IFMAC WOODMAC, all of which will take place in September. Since 2020, AMARA Expo has also served as Koelnmesse’s official sales representative in Indonesia, reflecting the steady growth of their partnership.
“Our collaboration with AMARA Expo has consistently delivered strong results across multiple events,” says Mathias Kuepper, Regional President APAC, Koelnmesse. “Establishing PT. Nine Koeln Indonesia reinforces our long-term commitment to Indonesia and allows us to further connect our global portfolio with this dynamic market.”
As one of the world’s leading trade fair organisers, Koelnmesse brings more than a century of experience and a strong global portfolio spanning key sectors including food & beverage, dental, furniture, hardware, and manufacturing. Across the Asia-Pacific region, Koelnmesse currently organises around 20 trade fairs, contributing to its global portfolio of over 80 trade fairs, attracting around 49,000 exhibitors from 129 countries and approximately 2.5 million visitors globally.
Combined with AMARA Expo’s deep local market knowledge and operational capabilities, this synergy will support Indonesian businesses in accessing wider markets, integrating international standards with local expertise, and unlocking new, diverse opportunities.
With a strong pipeline already in place, PT. Nine Koeln Indonesia will roll out several trade fairs in 2026, including the 2nd edition of interzum jakarta (24-27 September 2026), the International Hardware Fair Indonesia (24-27 September 2026), IFFINA+ powered by imm cologne (24-27 September 2026), and IFMAC WOODMAC (23-26 September 2026). These events highlight the company’s role in expanding industry platforms and strengthening Indonesia’s connectivity to global markets.
